The short version
Exercise Snacks has no account, no server, and no analytics. Your data stays on your iPhone and Apple Watch unless you deliberately choose to send or export it.
Exercise Snacks Pro is an optional subscription. Apple handles the payment - we never see your card details, and buying it sends none of your snack data anywhere.
What data the app stores
All data is stored locally on your iPhone and Apple Watch, using iOS secure storage and a shared app group so the two stay in sync. Nothing is uploaded automatically, ever.
The app stores:
- App settings - your active time window, snack count, snack duration, snooze duration, active days, warm-up preference, and notification preferences
- Custom activities - any exercise names you add yourself. They are stored on your iPhone, shared with your Apple Watch so it can show what's next, and never sent anywhere else
- Snack records - completion timestamps, effort ratings, which exercise you did, and the peak heart rate for snacks completed on Apple Watch
- Diagnostic logs - a short rolling log of app events, and crash summaries produced by Apple's on-device MetricKit framework, kept locally to help troubleshoot problems
- Blocked-app choices - if you're a Pro subscriber and you turn on app blocking, the apps you chose. iOS never gives us their names or icons, only opaque identifiers that mean nothing outside your device, and those are all we store
The app does not store your subscription status. Whether Pro is active is asked of the App Store each time it's needed, so there is nothing about your purchase held in the app's own storage.
Purchases and subscriptions
Exercise Snacks is free to use. Exercise Snacks Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks your history before the current week; everything else - the core loop, reminders, logging, the whole Apple Watch app, and all the educational content - stays free.
- Apple processes the payment, not us. Purchases go through the App Store using Apple's own StoreKit framework. We never receive, see, or store your card details, billing address, or Apple Account credentials.
- How the app knows you're subscribed. The app asks StoreKit whether your Apple Account has an active subscription. That check is made by Apple's framework on your device and communicates only with the App Store - never with us, and never with anyone else. Restoring a purchase does the same thing on request.
